Teen Services Special Hour: “Our Teens - Bringing School and Public Librarians Together” Online

Tyler Chadwell-English, Program Manager, Teen Services, Montgomery County Public Libraries, will host a special hour-long learning conversation for public and school library staff, bringing them together to learn and discuss shared key aspects of tween and teen services. Attendees will review foundational elements of teen services such as programming, programming promotion, readers’ advisory, teen engagement, and teen mental health. They will also have the opportunity to engage in professional discussion about these topics to share their knowledge, experiences, and shared interests in supporting teens instructionally, socially, and mentally, in their   respective library settings.

 Learning Objectives – Participants will be able to:

  • Name at least two key elements of effective teen program development
  • Identify at least one aspect of teen services shared by school and public library staff
  • Identify at least one aspect of teen services that is unique to school and public library staff, respectively   

CE Hours: 1
