Gamifying the Classics at the Ruth Enlow Library Online
Gamifying the Classics at the Ruth Enlow Library
Monday, October 20, 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Presenter: Thomas Vose, Director, Ruth Enlow Library
The Ruth Enlow Library’s Classics Buttons program, in its third year, has proven to be an effective way of incentivizing patrons of all ages to rediscover reading. Learn how it started, the unexpected directions it has taken, and what it takes for any library, even that of a small rural community, to replicate this program and help create a community of readers.
The Ruth Enlow Library of Garrett County won the MLA 2025 Project of the Year Award for the Classics Buttons program. The Project of the Year Award recognizes a project that showcases the highest levels of achievement, and professional standards and provides inspiration to other libraries.
CE Contact Hours (Maryland public libraries) = 1 hour
Zoom captioning will be available for all programs. If you require an ASL interpreter or other accommodation for a program, please contact nini.beegan@maryland.gov with as much notice as possible, but no later than three weeks before the program date.
This project is supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act administered by the Maryland State Library Agency.
