Flourishing Libraries In-Person

What does it mean for a library to truly flourish? In this engaging and interactive workshop, we’ll explore how individual well-being, team dynamics, and organizational culture all contribute to creating thriving libraries—places where both staff and communities grow.

Through reflection, discussion, and hands-on activities, we’ll explore how to shift from just getting by to building environments where people feel safe, creative, and connected.

🌟 Learning Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Define what flourishing means in a library context and recognize its key components.

  • Apply principles of positive psychology (such as the PERMA framework) to personal and team well-being.

  • Recognize the importance of psychological safety and identify practices that support a healthy, creative workplace culture.

  • Use systems thinking tools to map ripple effects of small changes in their daily work.

  • Incorporate everyday creativity as a way to boost energy, engagement, and resilience.

  • Co-create shared values and team actions that promote a flourishing library environment.

This workshop is more than professional development—it’s a chance to reconnect with your purpose, support one another, and shape a vision for a thriving future.
