PCI Webinar with Ana Villalpando- Interdepartmental and Intergenerational English Learning Programming Online
Even within the same library system, our understanding of our patrons’ needs varies immensely. As different as library departments may seem, combining our insights enriches our understanding of the community we serve and their interconnection throughout generations.
This webinar describes how to plan an interdepartmental and intergenerational program, taking a project-based English learning initiative as a parting point. Its goal is to delineate the steps to conduct this type of programming and to provide an example of interdepartmental planning engaging literacy and community services.
Attendees will learn how to:
- Survey community issues and create interdepartmental solutions
- Design collaborative programs based on community member’s input
- Introduce patrons to unfamiliar library services
